Swindon community in high spirits at festive event

Residents at a housing development in Swindon welcomed the local community for a street party, creating festive cheer and demonstrating community spirit.

Swindon community in high spirits at festive event

Organised in partnership with BBC Wiltshire, the street party was inspired by a radio phone-in which focused on the value of knowing your neighbours.

Residents from Redrow’s Badbury Park joined forces with local businesses and the Swindon community to organise the event, which featured local stalls, mulled wine, and a performance from Great Western Harmony and Badbury Park Primary School.

Redrow Homes supported the event by decking out the development with Christmas decorations, as well as organising a visit from the main man himself, Father Christmas.

Sarah Boyce, Sales Director at Redrow Homes Thames Valley, explained the importance of building a sense of community at new housing developments: “The street party was a huge success, and it was great to see so many people from the local community come along to get into the festive spirit.

“Here at Redrow Homes, we pride ourselves on our commitment to building thriving communities, and this ethos filters through into every stage of building a new development, from ensuring our developments are centred around open spaces, to building dedicated communal buildings, such as community centres and schools.

“We are delighted to have supported the local community and BBC Wiltshire in organising this event - hopefully it is the first of many!”

Situated on the edge of the picturesque Coate Water Country Park and within easy reach of both the M4 and Swindon town centre, Badbury Park is perfect for couples and families alike. The development currently has a selection of superb four-bedroom homes of offer, starting from £330,995.
