The club, on Bonehill Road, is offering a spa day for two including a 30-minute treatment as part of a raffle taking place on the day of the match, arranged by member, Daniel Leighton (26).
Pancreatic cancer is the 11th most common cancer in the UK, accounting for 3% of all new cancer cases*. Daniel has chosen to support the cause following the loss of close family and friends due to the illness, including his 80-year-old neighbour Joe Watkins, known to friends and family as Clifford.
Daniel said: “Pancreatic Cancer UK is a cause close to myself and my family’s hearts and I knew I wanted to support the charity in any way I could.
“Joe watched me play football every weekend, so for me, there was no better way to raise money for the charity than through a football match.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Bannatyne Tamworth for offering their support through the raffle prize and helping us to fundraise in the club, your efforts won’t be forgotten.”
Mark Reynolds, general manager at Bannatyne Tamworth, said: “When Daniel mentioned to us that he is hosting a charity match in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK, as a club we were more than happy to offer our support.
“On a personal level, I also wanted to back Daniel’s efforts following my father-in-law’s diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
“We wish everyone the best of luck for the game and we’re looking forward to welcoming the raffle winner to our gorgeous spa.”
