Number of personal trainers set to soar in 2016

Number of personal trainers set to soar in 2016

2016 is set to see an influx of health and fitness professionals, according to research released today.

A survey of 1,000 UK adults carried out by beabetteryoucourses.co.uk found that health and fitness is the most desirable industry to work in, with more than 1 in 3 (36%) respondents claiming they would take a job in this industry if they could.

What’s more, 1 in 5 of those surveyed said they would consider becoming a personal trainer in 2016.

65% of Brits cite financial insecurities as the main reason for not pursuing a career change.

However, those looking to make a career move into the health and fitness industry need not worry, as training for a new career in the health and fitness industry is now more financially accessible with an Advanced Learning Loan.

Before now, the government scheme has been in place to support those aged 24 and over to help pay for tuition fees and course costs.

Changes that will be implemented this year to the Advanced Learning Loan will result in the scheme becoming available to more people.

The UK government is now offering students aged 19 and over, who are planning to study on courses at level 3 or above, an Advanced Learning Loan to help pay for tuition fees.

The Advanced Learning Loan provides an opportunity to hopefuls who previously were unable or struggled to fund further education courses, due to age restrictions or complicated application processes.

Applying for an Advanced Leaning Loan is simple, and unlike other government funded bursaries and grants, this loan doesn’t take into account household income and there are no credit checks for applicants.

Those who are awarded with an Advanced Learning Loan will not be obliged to pay anything back until they earn a minimum annual income of £21,000. The interest rate is 9% on earnings above this figure and will be deducted directly from the applicant’s salary.

Fitness enthusiasts who would like to kick start a new career in the health and fitness industry can apply for an Advance Learning Loan from May 2016, to help fund courses with Beabetteryoucourses.co.uk, starting after July 2016.

Simon Bubb, managing director at beabetteryoucourses.co.uk, said: “It’s fantastic that the Advanced Learning Loan is now available to a wider age group and it opens up doors to those previously unable to progress on their desired career path as a personal trainer or fitness instructor.

“Our flexible personal trainer courses provide students with all the tools and resources they need to succeed and enjoy a rewarding career in the health and fitness industry. With the help of the Advanced Learning Loan, our students can now retrain as REPs accredited personal trainers and fitness instructors without any financial concerns or worries.”

Be a Better You is the UK’s number one personal trainer course provider, and offers REPs accredited personal trainer courses and fitness instructor courses around the country, as well as online at www.beabetteryoucourses.co.uk.
