Stansted care home celebrates double award win

Stansted care home celebrates double award win

A care home in Stansted is celebrating after it was recognised at two ceremonies.

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 120 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division. Mountfitchet House, on Coltsfield, beat the competition to take home the Best Dining Experience award, one of 20 accolades handed out during the event.

Nominated for the second year in a row, the panel of judges praised the home for continuing to deliver a luxury dining experience with a personal touch, and providing nutritional, tasty meals. However, it was the team’s consistent efforts to involve residents in designing the menu which judges felt set Mountfitchet House apart from competitors in the category.

The Stansted care home was also recognised at the Essex Care Sector Awards this year, winning the ‘End of Life Care’ award, and in addition, Peter Birsan, maintenance manager at Mountfitchet House was also highly commended for going above and beyond in his role.

Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House said: “To win at not one, but two different award ceremonies in one week is amazing. Both ceremonies were truly inspirational evenings – it was brilliant to hear about the dedication of team members across the country, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

“Here at Mountfitchet House, we strive to ensure the best possible care is provided in every aspect of life, from mealtimes, right through to end of life. I would like to say a huge thank you to the team for all of their hard work. Every single person is such a valuable part of the team and I really appreciate their dedication to ensuring Mountfitchet House is a wonderful place to live.”

Mountfitchet House has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential and nursing care, as well as short-term respite.
